Il lavoro, distribuito digitalmente da Believe Distribution Services, è disponibile su tutte le piattaforme di streaming digitale e sul sito della Blue Spiral Records. Il lavoro verrà incluso nell'album "Shapes", da ora in pre-order sia in formato CD che Vinile.
Descrizione EP
Shapes - Vol. 2 è un EP di 6 tracce che costituisce la seconda parte del disco Shapes. Continua il percorso nel quale le forme si disvelano attraverso l'uso sinestetico dei suoni e l'alternarsi di influenze stilistiche, talvolta più classiche, altre più elettroniche o cinematiche. Rispetto alla forma, Shapes - Vol. 2, rappresenta una risposta simmetrica al primo EP con un alternarsi di brani per pianoforte a brani elettronici e stratificati in cui elementi acustici dialogano con elettronica e acustiche paradossali. Mentre l'ispirazione, già suggerita dai titoli, è rappresentata da un processo di distillazione che dalle forme forme semi-astratte del primo EP giunge alla loro incarnazione calata nelle maglie del reale. La concezione dell'intera opera nasce da una duplice ispirazione: da un lato la filosofia zen, spesso presente nell'opera di Liverani, che in questo caso si sostanzia nell'uso di pochi elementi reiterati in una sorta di koan musicale. La seconda ispirazione è di natura sinestetica: nasce dal lavoro del fotografo cinese Fan Ho che, attraverso la luce, fa emergere dal caos forme pure (da cui il titolo del disco Shapes).

L'artista
Marcello Liverani è un compositore, producer e interprete nato a Cagliari. La sua musica combina elementi acustici, derivati dal genere Modern Classical, musica elettronica, ambient, elementi beat e sfumature talvolta sperimentali derivate dal suo background. È un artista eclettico attivo anche come insegnante di canto e direttore di coro, come cantante ha pubblicato due album sotto il nome "Reverse Context". Ha studiato composizione nel Conservatorio della sua città natale e dopo la laurea ha studiato nelle accademie europee con compositori come I.Fedele, A. Corghi, H Dufourt e T. Hosokawa. Dopo aver conseguito un Master in Composizione presso l'Accademia di S. Cecilia di Roma, ha ricevuto riconoscimenti e premi per le sue opere vocali, per ensemble e orchestrali, che sono state eseguite in sedi e festival come il Parco della musica a Roma, il "Festival de Acanthes" a Metz e presso la Biennale di Venezia, dove nel 2012 è stato selezionato anche per una residenza artistica. Il suo obiettivo principale nella musica è esprimere il profondo bisogno di abbracciare la semplice poesia della vita attraverso la natura stessa del suono.

EP description
Shapes - Vol. 2 is a 6-track EP that forms the second part of the final album Shapes. The path continues in which forms are revealed through the synaesthetic use of sounds and the alternation of stylistic influences, sometimes more classic, others more electronic or cinematic. Shapes - Vol. 2 represents a symmetrical response to the first EP with an alternation of piano pieces with electronic and layered pieces in which acoustic elements interact with electronic and paradoxical acoustics. While the inspiration, already suggested by the titles, is represented by a distillation process that from the semi-abstract forms of the first EP reaches their incarnation embedded in the mesh of reality. The conception of the entire work stems from a double inspiration: on the one hand the Zen philosophy, often present in Liverani's work, which in this case consists of the use of a few elements repeated in a sort of musical koan. The second inspiration is of a synaesthetic nature: it comes from the work of the Chinese photographer Fan Ho who, through light, brings out pure forms from chaos (hence the title of the album Shapes).

The Artist
Marcello Liverani is a composer, producer and performer from Sardinia, Italy. His music brings acoustic elements, derived from the modern classical genre, electronic music with ambient, beat elements and sometimes experimental nuances derived from his background. He's an eclettic artist also active as a singing teacher and choir conductor, as a vocalist he released two albums with the name "Reverse Context". He studied composition in his hometown Conservatoire and after graduating he studied in European academies with composers as I.Fedele, A. Corghi, H. Dufourt and T. Hosokawa. After obtaining a Master's degree in Composition at the "Accademia di S. Cecilia" in Rome, he received recognitions and won prizes for his vocal, ensemble and orchestral works, which have been performed in venues and festival such as Parco della musica in Rome, "Festival de Acanthes" in Metz and the Venice Biennale, where he's also been selected for a residence. His main focus in music is to expresses the deep need to embrace simple poetry of life through intimate nature of sound.
